My Qualifications
I would like to take a little time here to tell you about myself and my qualifications. I was raised in a loving Midwestern, small town family that had a very strong work ethic. That strong work ethic is something I have come to cherish and I am very grateful to my family for giving it to me.
I think I got my first real job when I was 14 yrs old but had paper routes before then. The paper routes were actually my first sales and customer service roles. I know what you are thinking, but before you laugh, hear me out. I was responsible for collecting the money from the subscribers and had to go door to door and ask to be paid (wow - what a different world we live in now - no parent in their right mind would send their 11 or 12 yr old kid out to peoples homes alone today!) and had to learn how to work with the slow paying customer, the non-paying customer, etc. Granted, if there were any serious problems my folks just called the paper, but I still had to deal with the repercussions. And if they did not get their paper, who do you think they called? that’s right - my house, not the paper, so I learned at an early age how to appease an angry customer. At Christmas time, it was customary for the subscribers to give their delivery boy a tip. Well, back then you didn’t just “get” a tip, you had to earn it. Mr Johnson wanted his paper in the mailbox, so in the mailbox it went. Ms. Williams wanted her paper at the back door, not the front door. so through the snow I’d walk to get it to the back door, even though the front door would have been easier. I am sure you can see my point - I learned at a very young age the importance of good customer service and the financial rewards it could bring.
After High School, I flirted with college a bit but never graduated. I spent a lot of time and money in college but I was unfocused and it was unproductive for me. By time I was 20 I was a licensed real estate agent and then spent the next 25 years selling everything from real estate to stocks and bonds and more. During that time, I attended numerous Sales Training Courses, the most notable of which was the Dale Carnegie Course. I graduated form the course, receiving both the Dale Carnegie Human Relations Award and the Dale Carnegie Special Achievement Award. Currently, I own 2 small corporations and am also an eBay Silver Powerseller with over 1600 feedbacks and a 100% positive rating. I am also an Education Specialist Trained by eBay and teach the official eBay curriculum in both a classroom and private setting.
